Went here for a bite to eat to celebrate a birthday. Everything was super good. I wish I took pictures of the sushi, but it looked so good that everyone ate it immediately. The waitress was also super friendly.
I’ve been coming here for years, I could write a hundred reviews for amazing nights we’ve had at this restaurant—best sushi around! Tonight we had a small emergency and had to order food to go even though we’d made a reservation. Jason didn’t skip a beat, took our to-go order and we were out the door 15 minutes later! And the food like always was excellent.
Hands down the best sushi here in Lincoln, NE!!! My wife and I had a previous favorite, but ever since going to Shokunin, my wife says she wants no other sushi - nothing else can compare! While this restaurant may be around the corner and just off the beaten path, it is so worth finding & trying out! Real ramen - REAL! Haven't had anything like it since the Japanese sushi places in Asia. Real Japanese tea, too... not the fast, readymade stuff. The tuna melts in your mouth. I thought the newspaper was just joking when it mentioned that fact (in their review) - but when I tried it, I actually laughed - it does melt! Both traditional and also more Americanized sushi can be found here. According to the folks who work at Shokunin, a special chartered cargo flight - arranged by the owners of Shokunin, departs Japan every week with a stop in Los Angeles; and then direct to Lincoln, for the freshest ingredients... and boy, as mentioned before, you can't find anything like it anywhere in the region - totally fresh!!! Did I also forget to mention that the owners / master chefs are from the coast and are experienced in their craft, too (as I remember)? So, if you want the best - 235%300% more best sushi in southeast... and I'd even dare to say eastern Nebraska, then you've got to try Shokunin - it is, THE BEST!!!!!
Really Great sushi. They make the rolls their own. I mean the food isn’t just another sushi roll place..they have unique style and cooking that sets them apart. I like the photos on the menu, and the service was great. The location is easy to find too.
The best sushi and whole menu in town. I personally been to many many different sushi restaurants and this one by far the best in food , variety , the quality, the size. We as family if want sushi never consider any other place but this. Never since they open they ever disappointed us!!!! God bless !!!

I loved eating at Shokunin! This place is now my favorite sushi restaurant in town. The staff/service was amazing. The food was delicious. The drinks were stunning and tasted great! There was a lot of thought put into the decor of the place, and I was a huge fan of the music playing. The vibe was lofi chill beats and it was perfect for the atmosphere! I came during happy hour and the prices were good for sushi & mixed drinks. It’s a small place but totally worth the visit. They also have great vegetarian options, though my sister loved their regular/specialty sushi. I recommend the veggie tempura and any of the veggie rolls. Overall, eating here was an awesome experience and I can’t wait to go back!
